Metal roofs have many distinct advantages over other roofing materials, which make them a popular choice for commercial roofing in Jacksonville. They are durable, lightweight, easy to install and are fireproof. With a wide variety of colors and styles to choose from, Elo Roofing can achieve virtually any look you want for your commercial property.

Types of Asphalt Shingle Roofs

With the variety of options that asphalt shingles roofing provides, homeowners are able to achieve a unique look on the home without breaking the bank. These are the asphalt shingle types Elo Roofing roof services provider can install in Jacksonville FL homes:

Three-tab Asphalt Shingles

Three-tab shingles are the most common type of asphalt shingle roofing, classified by their cutouts which make them look like three separate pieces. They’re affordable, lightweight, easy to maintain, energy efficient, and can last up to 20 years.

Architectural Asphalt Shingles

Laminated with an additional asphalt layer and bonded with asphalt sealant, architectural asphalt shingles have a more defined, structural look and are more durable and waterproof than three-tab asphalt shingles. They come in a variety of shapes, colors and sizes and can easily mimic the look of more premium roofing alternatives like cedar and slate.

In addition to these types, there are also different materials that your shingles could be made of:

Fiberglass Shingles

Fiberglass shingles are made with a combination of woven fiberglass as the base, asphalt coating, and ceramic granules on top, these materials create a waterproof and UV-protectant shingle while also being extremely lightweight and thin due to its lower amounts of asphalt.

Organic Mat-based Shingles

Organic mat-based shingles are a kind of asphalt shingle roofing has a recycled felt paper layer for its base. They’ll be heavier, thicker, and slightly more expensive than fiberglass shingles but they’re also more rugged and flexible.

Advantages to Metal Roofs

Metal is one of the most reliable roofing materials on the market for commercial and industrial buildings. These are some of the characteristics that make it a great roofing option:

Durability

Metal roofing holds up well against all types of harsh weather conditions. It is even able to withstand debris and animal activity. The impact of extreme weather in the Jacksonville area makes metal roofing an excellent choice for durability.

Low maintenance

Maintenance on a metal roof is so easy that you could almost install it and forget about it. As with any roofing material, regular maintenance is a must, but the upkeep on a metal roof is so limited, that compared to other solutions, you’ll have a worry-free roof and save on costs in the long run.

Longevity

Its durability and ease of maintenance contribute to metal roofs lasting a very long time – up to 50-70 years. This is great news for any business as costs are significantly saved in the long run, considering regular commercial roof maintenance is observed.

Environmentally friendly

In most cases, a quality metal roof will be made of anything from 35% – 95% recyclable and/or recycled material. While the lifespan of a metal roof will be very long, when it does come time to remove it for whatever reason, the entire thing will be 100% recyclable, as opposed to being dumped in a landfill. In addition, its heat-reflecting capabilities means the homeowner will save on home energy costs too, by reducing the need for cooling in the home.

Value

While a commercial metal roof will cost more up front to install, it will cost less over its lifetime. The long-term investment is well worth it considering the reduction of maintenance and repair costs over the roof’s lifetime. On top of that, metal roof warranties also tend to be exceptional.

Types of Metal Roofing

Metal offers a wide spectrum of variations and materials under its umbrella, all of which can be installed by Elo Roofing. These are some of the most popular metal roofing varieties installed on commercial facilities:

Aluminium Roofing

Aluminium roofing has many benefits that business owners and property managers are attracted to. While it is durable, corrosion-resistant, cost-effective, and eco-friendly, aluminum roofing also doesn’t rust, enables smoother water runoff, and reflects the sun better than other metal roofing materials. This also makes it energy-efficient.

Steel Roofing

A popular choice for roofing in hail-prone areas particularly, steel roofing is super durable and low maintenance, which ranks it high on the longevity scale. Like most metal roofing materials, the heat reflection also contributes to reduced energy use and costs.

Standing Seam Metal Roofing

Standing-seam is the most popular iteration of metal roofing. Essentially, this type of roofing raises the seams beyond the level of the actual roof, thereby creating panels that run from the ridge to the eaves of the roof. Its interlocking system ensures that a watertight seal is created, and also makes it one of the strongest, most reliable roof systems on the market today.

Corrugated Metal Roofing

Corrugated metal is made from galvanized steel rolled into a wavy pattern. This corrugation process enhances the strength of the material, making corrugated metal a tough metal roofing option ideal for commercial properties. This is thanks to its light weight, durability and water-shedding features.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What’s important to remember here is that costs will vary depending on the type of asphalt shingles you opt for, as well as the roofing contractor and the materials they use. However, you can work on a ballpark of anywhere between $3.50 and $5.50 per sq. ft. to reach a broad estimation.
The average asphalt roof shingles are expected to last around 20 years. Regular maintenance and prompt repairs could help in extending this lifespan.
This is a matter of personal preference together with what works well with the design of the home. Fortunately, asphalt roofing provides a wide variety of colors to choose from to meet those needs. It’s best to discuss your options and ideas with your local roofing service provider before making the decision (which you’ll have to live with for at least the next two decades!).

Was dreading having to replace my roof. Tom with ELO roofing made the process simple and easy to get through. Kept in touch through the whole process. The price was very good and the timely completion of the job was exactly as it was explained. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend ELO roofing to anyone in the market for a roof. You can't go wrong.
This review is very overdue and I apologize if I only do it today. But time will test the durability of their work, and the season of huricane and storm is already here. I am truly satisfied and grateful on how they helped me and my mother go thru the processes of fixing and changing our roof. We trusted them with all our hearts that this project will be done thru the help of Maria and Rom Guzman. They consider us not a client but like part of their own family that's in need and must be helped. For that I am thankful, we are thankful. They finished our roof fast and efficient. No stress in our side and also gives us update when needed. It has been 6 months past and hurricane and storm passed by and all I can say is we never have any problems like leaking or any fallen shingles.Again, thank you to Rom Guzman and Maria for helping a family like us. May God bless you for your kindness and love to us and to the other families that you are helping.

It seems like every company these days say they are customer focused and committed to excellent customer service. Some companies deliver on this promise, but most fall short. In my 42-year career, I worked in management at several four and five-star hotels and resorts. I was generally responsible for overseeing over a hundred employees, and ensuring that they delivered a high level of excellent customer service. When my wife and I decided it was time to replace our roof, we did some research online and located four highly reviewed and rated roofers. We asked each of the four to bid on the job. We were not just looking for the cheapest bid. We wanted quality and service. We met with a sales rep from each of the four companies. They were all very professional and seemed competent and trustworthy. They were all pretty close on the price as well.ELO sent Ryan Boyd. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and he not only answered all of our questions, but he brought up important information that we did not even think to ask about. Once we signed the bid, Amanda Farrell contacted us. She is the coordinator that worked to schedule the job, and she kept in touch along the way to make sure everything was on track. Within a week, they had the permit from the county, the materials and dumpster were delivered on a Friday, and the crew showed up at 6 AM on Monday. They had told us it would take one to three days. They got it done in one. They also installed a very nice Velux skylight for us. Dylan was the site supervisor, and he kept in touch with me all day, answering my questions and responding to my concerns at every step. When everything was done, we were very happy with the installation, clean-up, and how good everything looked.A few days later, I got a call from Tim Taylor, their Quality Assurance Manager. He was following up to make sure we were happy. I told him we were 99.5% happy, but one small thing did not look right. He came to our house, and I showed him the siding on the chimney where it meets the roof. It looked a bit damaged, not terrible, but a little rough. I realized it probably wasn’t even anything they had done as we looked at it with him. He didn’t miss a beat. He said we can fix that for you. A few days later, he came back with another man to help him, and they made it look like new. Five-star hospitality.Top notch customer service, didn’t nickel and dime us, friendly, and competent. We would highly recommend.
