Choosing the Right Tile Roofs Materials for The Bridges’s Climate
The Bridges experiences a unique climate characterized by warm temperatures, occasional heavy rainfalls, and a humid atmosphere that can challenge roofing materials. Choosing the right tile roof material is essential to ensure durability and performance under these conditions. Homeowners should consider options that resist moisture, withstand seasonal storms, and maintain aesthetic appeal over time.
Clay Tile Roofs
Clay tile roofs are a traditional and durable choice suitable for The Bridges’ warm climate. Their natural thermal properties help keep homes cool, reducing energy costs. These tiles resist moisture and wind damage, making them ideal against Florida’s seasonal rains and storms. Their long lifespan and distinctive look add value and curb appeal to homes.
Concrete Tile Roofs
Concrete tiles offer strong resistance to winds and moisture, important for The Bridges’ weather patterns. They can be molded to mimic the look of clay while providing excellent impact resistance. Their heavier weight adds stability, and coatings help protect against algae and discoloration caused by humidity.
Composite Tile Roofs
Composite tile roofs are manufactured from recycled materials, offering an eco-friendly alternative for The Bridges homeowners. These tiles are lightweight yet strong, resisting cracking and fading in the humid coastal air. They also typically come with extended warranties to protect against weather-related damage.

Common Tile Roofs Questions from The Bridges Homeowners
How does Florida’s humidity affect tile roofs in The Bridges?
High humidity can promote the growth of moss and algae on tile roofs, leading to discoloration and potential damage. Choosing tiles with protective coatings and scheduling regular maintenance helps preserve the lifespan and appearance of your roof despite humid conditions.
What’s the best time of year to replace my roof in The Bridges?
The dry season, typically from late fall to early spring, offers the most favorable weather for roof replacement. It minimizes the risk of installation delays due to rain and allows for the best curing of roofing materials.
Are tile roofs hurricane-rated in The Bridges?
Many tile roofs installed by Elo Roofing are rated to withstand hurricane-force winds and impact. We use approved materials and installation techniques designed to meet Florida’s stringent building codes for storm resistance.

I wanted to say how impressed I was with this roofing company! Not only they provided me with the best quote for a roof repair, they were also on time and provided great service.
I was fortunate to have Dustin come out and do the repairs. … More He went above and beyond of what was needed. He even painted a scratch from a tree. Great job and a very pleasant overall experience! Ask for Dustin for your roofing needs. -

First and foremost, I don’t write many reviews, but I felt compelled to express my gratitude to Dustin, Kyle and the crew who removed and replaced our roof, and the overall ELO Roofing experience. Dustin was incredibly patient with us, … More especially since this was our first time getting a new roof. I must admit, I was skeptical of any roofing company that came out to give us a bid.
Putting the insurance company experience aside, I want to highlight Dustin’s exceptional ability to set our expectations even before we made a decision to work with ELO Roofing. Once we decided to go with Dustin and ELO, he went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and allowed us to take our time making decisions until we were ready to proceed.
The delivery of the materials went smoothly, except for a minor issue with our tree blocking part of our driveway. This required the delivery company to drive over the lawn, leaving some ruts in the grass. Dustin informed us about this possibility, and I’m pleased to report that the grass has already been repaired by Dustin.
On the day the roofers arrived, they were ready to work as soon as the sun rose. Literally. They worked diligently throughout the day, taking only a short lunch break and brought their own food and a microwave! I’m certain that if the weather had been less favorable, they might have needed to take more frequent breaks. They were incredibly hardworking, courteous, and ensured that they cleaned up every night before leaving. Kyle checked in with us a couple times a day with updates.
I cannot emphasize enough how impressed I am with their craftsmanship. Removing and replacing plywood on the fly and moving right along methodically. It would have been easy for them to simply leave after a long, hard day of work, and honestly, I wouldn’t have blamed them. But they went the extra mile by spending another hour cleaning up. There was no unnecessary chatter; they focused solely on their work, working tirelessly from sunrise to sunset. I wish I had some co-workers who worked this hard.
Dustin mentioned that a roof replacement was a major construction project before we even started, and we knew the yard would be covered in debris. This is something anyone getting a roof should expect, but like I said, it was new to us, so Dustin patiently spelled everything out. They even have an app that shows you photos from the guys up on the roof as they move along.
Don’t schedule house guests when you’re getting your roof replaced. Your house will be having a beauty week, and the dumpster will likely be in your driveway along with other supplies so there is no hiding it. Expect a mess, but also expect it to be mostly tidy each evening, not like it would be if you weren’t having construction done on your house. It’s noisy, stuff will be falling from the roof all day, and the yard will be full of pieces of your old roof. I’d recommend going somewhere else for the day if you can and parking at your neighbors’ if possible. Because there are lots of nails, lots and lots of nails. They have cool magnets that pick up almost all of them, and tarps to catch roof bits but it’s better safe than sorry until they’ve swept for them a few times after the roof is complete.
Day two was the same as the first. From sunrise to sunset, those guys installed the new roof. It was still noisy, and there was still stuff everywhere.
After they were done, we reviewed everything, walked the yard, and all the debris was cleaned up, and they swept for nails again. Then later, Dustin came back to sweep for nails again and crawled under the dumpster to make sure.
The dumpster hung out in the driveway for a bit after completion, but we knew this was going to happen since they finished on a Friday evening. Even the dumpster pick up folks swept for nails once the dumpster was hitched to the truck.
We are thoroughly satisfied with our experience at ELO Roofing, particularly with Dustin, Kyle, and the roofing crew. If you’re considering getting a new roof, give Dustin a call at ELO Roofing.
